Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 26 2/3 Fl.Ozs. / 70 Proof
A small batch Glen Grant 1938 Speyside single malt whisky released in the 1970s by independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail for the range of semi-licensed bottlings now known as the Distillery Labels series.
This 38-year-old Glen Grant from Gordon & MacPhail was bottled in the 1970s and reputedly comes from 1936 stock. Entirely matured in sherry, this is a sublime example of classic, pre-war style Speyside distillate and is waxy, massively fruity, subtly peaty and full of tiny sub-complexities such as quince, spices, rancio and old pipe tobacco.
This old Glen Grant 38-year-old from G&M is a beautiful and extinct style of whisky that anyone serious about whisky should endeavour to taste.
