A full set of all four bottles in the Macallan Decades Travel Series, a fascinating project undertaken by the distillery right before the turn of the millennium. The Macallan Travel Series was a series of four different whiskies created by Macallan in 1999 to mimic the variations and development in the Macallan house style in the decades from the 1920s until the 1950s.
Painstakingly recreated using a fair amount of specially peated spirit, the Macallan Travel Series bottlings are interesting and delicious variants on the modern house style, and the 50cl bottles with their stylish labels evoking the spirit of the decades involved have long been popular with collectors as well as drinkers.

My usual preference is for a peaty whisky; however, the Aberargie Inaugural Single Malt 2026 was an enjoyable experience. I will definitely be trying more.
I’m not a great fan of Peated Whisky but this one is superb, gently Peated Sherry Hogshead doesn’t get better than this very smooth Whisky, a very pleasant surprise.
