Ladyburn 1973 is a fascinating relic from one of Scotland's shortest-lived distilleries. The Ladyburn distillery only existed as part of theGirvandistillation complexfrom 1966-75, and was never bottled as a single malt in its brief lifetime, with almost the entirety of its output going to owner William Grant's blends.
In 2000 around a dozen casks of Ladyburn 1973 were unearthed and bottled individually, the first single casks from the distillery. Cask 1591 was an ex-bourbon cask, bottled at 50.4%, and is now usually only found at auction. These 1973 Ladyburns were generally very highly rated and if you're looking to pick up a bottle from one of the Lowland's most elusive unicorn distilleries, this is your chance.
