A superb example of lost Highland whisky, this Banff 1976 was distilled in August 1976 and bottled by Cadenhead's in April 1997 after twenty years of maturation. Released as part of their Authentic Collection, it was drawn from a single oak cask and bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.4% without chill filtration or added colouring.

Banff remains one of Scotland's most sought-after closed distilleries. Situated in the north-east Highlands, the distillery ceased production in 1983 before being demolished, ensuring that every surviving bottling represents an increasingly scarce piece of Scotch whisky history. Independent bottlers such as Cadenhead's played a crucial role in preserving the character of Banff through a series of highly respected single cask releases.

The 1970s are widely regarded as a particularly successful period for Banff, producing whiskies renowned for their distinctive combination of waxy complexity, tropical fruit notes, honeyed sweetness and subtle mineral character.
