Spirit of Yorkshire's Filey Bay Moscatel Sherry Cask English single malt whisky was assimilated into the English distillery's core range portfolio late in 2025 after a series of successful small batch releases. This new ongoing core range edition has had its name tweaked from Moscatel Finish to Moscatel Sherry Cask and its bottling strength has been upped from the previous 46% to a feisty 47.3%.

Bottled without colouring or chill filtration, Filey Bay Moscatel Sherry Cask begins its maturation in ex-bourbon casks and is later reracked into Spanish oak casks that previously held the delicious sweet sherry wine Moscatel before bottling. This whisky is drawn from a sherry-style solera vessel that is topped up with older sherry-finished casks each time a batch is bottled from the vat to ensure that each subsequent batch has a richer and deeper character.

The previous Filey Bay Moscatel Sherry Finish small batches were first introduced in 2020 and proved a big hit with whisky fans, picking up a Gold Medal at the World Whisky Masters. A punchy medium-weight English single malt whisky with delicious sweet exotic fruit flavours from the Moscatel.
