Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 58.7%

A single cask Ben Nevis 2011 13-year-old Highland single malt whisky released by indie bottlers Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for their Infrequent Flyers range in 2025. Infrequent Flyers Ben Nevis 2011 is a cask strength single malt whisky bottled without colouring or chill filtration.

This 13-year-old Ben Nevis 2011 was finished for over four years in a hogshead cask that had previously held Italy’s deliciously rich Recioto della Valpolicella red wine and was bottled from single cask 805913 with an outturn of 299 bottles at a massive natural cask strength of 58.7%. Ben Nevis is enjoying a prolonged purple patch these last few years and that looks set to continue as long as the indies keep releasing great examples like these.

Almost a Longrow Red

My favourite whisky is any one of the Longrow Reds that Springbank have released over the years. This Ben Nevis is the nearest in style I've ever tasted. Ever so slightly dryer than the Longrows, and slightly less oily, but a wonderful dram in its own right and a serious pity that there's so few bottles. If you like a red wine influenced, serious, complex whisky with a hint of peat, you can't go wrong with this.
