A magnificent small batch Strathisla 1972 Speyside single malt whisky released by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their Distillery Labels series. This version was bottled at 43% in 2013, making the whisky at least 40 years old.

This 40-ish-year-old Strathisla 1972 was the last of a series of superb Strathislas from this vintage by G&M and was a small batch vatting of just two casks, a refill sherry butt and a first fill sherry hogshead. The resulting dram is a stunning whisky full of dark chocolate, raisins and tropical fruit flavours. A classical long-aged sherried Strathisla from the very top drawer.
