A single cask 29-year-old Pittyvaich 1993 Speyside single malt whisky released in 2022 by Gordon & MacPhail in the first tranche of their Recollection series, which celebrates Scotland's lost distilleries.

This 1993 Pittyvaich 29-year-old comes from a single refill American hogshead which turned out 159 bottles at its natural cask strength of 48.6% and is a fruity, citrussy dram bottled without colouring or chill filtration.

Pittyvaich is one of the forgotten victims of the whisky lake crisis, a modern blending malt distillery built in the 1970s that never established much of an identity before being shuttered in 1993, the year this cask was filled. The recent long-aged G&M editions show that the distillery had potential far beyond mere blending fodder.
