This 1987 Ardmore 35-year-old came from a single refill American hogshead cask (#2898) that yielded 171 bottles at 57.1%, equivalent to the old imperial 100-proof and an extremely impressive strength for any whisky of this age. This G&M Ardmore 1987 seems very likely to be an absolute banger.

Colour: Dark Gold.

Nose: Sweet lemon and lime aromas lead to notes of subtle white chocolate. Fragrant floral notes combine with pressed apple and rich smoke.

Paste: Smooth and vibrant tropical fruit flavours; pineapple and guava lead to undertones of marshmallow. Desiccated coconut develops accompanied by toasted almonds and oak.

Finish: Medium-bodied finish with lasting citrus fruit and soft vanilla.
