Glen Ord is a big blending beast of a distillery whose single malt was withdrawn from the UK market to become Singleton of Glen Ord for the Asian market. This is a shame because, despite its image of a hulking great blending factory, Glen Ord is actually a very fine malt. There is not a wealth of Glen Ord in bottled form in this country now but, if you can find it, it is often brilliant, rich, full-bodied well structured Highland whisky. It is definitely a distillery worth a reappraisal if you've maybe passed it by a little too quickly in the past.
