Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 50%
An old single cask St Magdalene 1982 bottled as as 26-year-old without colouring or chill filtration in 2008 by Douglas Laing for their Old Malt Cask range.
This 26-year-old St. Magdalene 1982 came from a single refill sherry butt cask #4712 that yielded a generous 511 bottles at the standard Old Malt Cask strength of 50%. Earlier vintages of St. Magdalene were sometimes quite austere, Highland-style whiskies, but this 1982 vintage is much more classically Lowland in style, with lots of grass, hay, and citrus flavours and notes of vanilla and exotic fruit. A truly delicious dram.
