Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 40%
A 1971 Millburn single malt whisky bottled in 1991 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice range, meaning that the whisky aged 19-20 years before bottling.
Millburn was one of the Inverness distilleries in Diageo forerunner DCL's portfolio, and survived the brutal 1983 distillery cull during the whisky lake crisis but was forced to close two years later in 1985.
Millburn was never officially bottled in its lifetime - the first OBs were a trio of Rare Malts Editions, the first of which appeared a decade after the distillery closed in 1995 - and these rare independent bottlings by the likes of Gordon & MacPhail are among the only remaining whiskies from this lost Highland distillery.
