This 9-year-old Strathclyde 2014 matured full term in Cask 1432128, a red wine hogshead cask that yielded an impressive 307 bottles at its humongous natural cask strength of 60.8%. Youthful red wine matured grain whisky does sound like a narrow niche, but this looks like a real charmer for fans of full-throttle wine-influenced whiskies, and grain whiskies are always excellent value.
