The splendid Pickering's Original Small Batch gin is distilled and bottled at Summerhall distillery, which was Edinburgh's first new gin distillery for over 150 years when it opened in 2013 in a converted space that previously housed the dog kennels at the city's former University Veterinary Centre.
Pickering's is distilled on copper stills from Portugal and boasts a botanical mix including fennel, cardamom, coriander and angelica to complement the juniper. A delightful dry gin, big in character with a pleasingly nuanced palate.
