A lovely old bottle of Glenrothes 1984 bottled in the mid-1990s (1996 to be precise) soon after the distillery's vintage malt core range had been relaunched.
These 1990s and early 2000s bottlings of vintage Glenrothes were almost all great drinking whiskies and the 1984 was always a popular vintage, with several iterations released at increasing ages until the 21-year-old in 2005. This 1984 vintage was bottled at 11 or 12 years old and already shows some noticeable sherry influence, with lots of fruits, nuts and spices.
