A single cask of Coleburn 1972, bottled as a 47-year-old at full strength without colouring or chill filtration in 2020 by Gordon & MacPhail for their 125th Anniversary celebration range.
This 1972 Coleburn has somehow managed to retain a colossal cask strength of 62.4% over its 47 years of maturation in a refill sherry puncheon cask #9351, and yielded a total of 363 bottles. This epic Coleburn 1972 was the last cask of the distillery's whisky at Gordon & MacPhail, and as no-one else has bottled any Coleburn since 2011 it may well have been the very last cask in existence from this long-lost distillery. What a way to go.

Nose: Butterscotch and tropical fruit aromas accompany citrus peel.
Palate: Flavours of passionfruit, apricot and apple give way to pepper.
Finish: Medium finish with autumnal fruit and lingering herbal notes.
