The Darroze family have bottled some frankly stunning Gaube armagnacs over the past forty-odd years - this is one of the most accomplished producers in the region, whose easy-drinking spirits are powerful and packed with delicious classical Armagnac flavours. This 56-year-old Gaube 1971 from Darroze will be magnificent stuff, and of course it's ridiculously good value compared to whiskies the same age.
