A departure to the last Vatted Grain, Compass box delivered this with admiration and pride. At midnight on 22nd November 2011, an era ends. After that point, it will be illegal for whiskymakers to use the term Vatted Grain on labels
From 23rd November 2011, this style of whisky will by law have to be labelled as a Blended Grain Scotch Whisky.
Compass Box's last bottling is based on 42 year-old grain whisky from Invergordon, 29 year-old whisky from the now-closed Carsebridge, 20 year-old whisky distilled at the now-closed Port Dundas, 14 year-old whisky distilled at the Cameron Bridge distillery.
