Black Cow is the worlds first pure milk vodka that is in fact made from the waste milk that is leftover from cheese production.
Hailing from West Dorset, Black Cow Distillery makes its vodka from the milk of the cows that graze on the fields around the distillery and it claims to be the original spirit to champion sustainability: it is whey, a by-product of the cheese-making process, that makes the vodka so gloriously smooth.
Strawberry & Watermelon Slushie
180ml Black Cow + English Strawberries
1 small watermelon
1 punnet of strawberries
Juice from two limes
Half a chilli (optional for those who like their spice)
1 cup of ice
Mint to garnish
Cut the watermelon into cube sized pieces, remove the seeds and place into a blender. Remove the stems from the strawberries and cut in half, and add them to the blender too (add the chilli now if you said yes to this option, de-seed it before blending). Juice the limes and pour in the vodka, add ice and blitz. You may have to do this in halves depending on the size of the blender. Pour into your glass and garnish with 1 sprig of mint.
This is a delicious twist on a classic.
