Official Tasting NotesNose: Sweet briny smokiness with distinct island character and playful notes that hint at mild antiseptic, creosote, wax polish, mint chocolate and floral seaside aromas. Soft peat, gentle smoke.Palate:Tantalisingly sweet, medicinal flavours infused with enticing sparks of spicy pepper and dried fruit with rich peaty smoke and a velvety vanilla and malty creaminess.Finish: A wondrous union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of liquorice and a kick of cloves with a exquisite lingering saltiness.
The 10-year-old Ledaig heavily-peated single malt whisky from Tobermory Distillery was introduced in 2007 and like many single malt whisky fans we were knocked out when we first tried it. Subtle it ain't, but this is a thrill ride and wow, its good!
Well integrated, well made and well priced from WHISKY-ONLINE.
This was a gift for my brother in law. He was thrilled with it
Very drinkable with a very nice peaty ending.
This is now one of my go-to peaty drams. Very approachable with plenty of depth and flavour, and just the right balance of peat. Close your eyes while drinking this and you'll think you're on the West Coast of Scotland.
One of my favourite whiskies from the last couple of years, more subtle than some of the big Islay peaty whiskies. Looking forward to trying the 18 at some point

Official Tasting NotesNose: Notes of Turkish delight and rose petals balanced with candied fruits and grapes followed by rich leather and a beautiful peppery spice. A hint of chocolate comes through at the back.Palate:Creamy mouthfeel packed full of almonds, barley and sweet malt with notes of peppery Ledaig, which give way to black raspberries, sweet vanilla and cocoa interspersed with cinnamon spice and hints of freshly cut grass.Finish: Lingering smoky finish with red fruit and sea spray.
Released in 2020 at the distillery's now-standard 46.3%, this Ledaig began life in ex-bourbon casks before a finishing period in Rioja wine barriques, which have added some fresh berry notes to the Ledaig spirit's trademark salty, smoky, rubbery flavours.
Love this, very pleasant drink
Love the smokey aroma and the colour represents the peaty taste well and not to strong spicey taste for my pallet.
So nice I wanted to buy some bottles as a present. Sold out in the Netherlands, so I bought it here. Never thought about the import duties now Britain is no longer part of the EU, bit of an unpleasant surprise..
Tastes as Ledaig should, smooth and a hint of smoke

Tobermory is a distillery that has really begun to thrive recently, with a growing cult following for their Ledaig peated single malt whisky. This Tobermory 12-year-old replaced the old 10-year-old as the distillery's standard bottling in 2019, when Tobermory reopened after a two year rebuild.Matured in ex-bourbon casks before a finishing period in virgin oak, it's been very well-received and represents another step up in quality for Tobermory.
Luscious and sweet,
A very refreshing drink, easy to sip with or without water. I ordered one in a Scottish bar and they said why drink a ladies whisky. Well I think they might have something, the ladies would love it.
I was looking for a good single malt daily drinker under £50 and this did not disappoint, in fact, it was under £40!!! - punches well above its price point. I bought this on a deal and couldnt find it cheaper elsewhere.
The first taste is a total surprise and the comments on the box Defo the best of the islands A new favourite for me
Thoroughly enjoyed the Tobermory 12 year old. Great depth of flavour and full of character, rather irresistible!
