A single cask Strathisla 1979 24-year-old Speyside single malt whisky released in 2003 or 2004 by mail order independent whisky bottlers Direct Wines for their First Cask series.
This 24-year-old Strathisla 1979 came from single cask 5348, bottled without colouring or chill filtration at 46%. Strathisla is one of Speyside's greatest distilleries but is rarely independently bottled by anyone other than Gordon & MacPhail. This is one of a handful of top class examples bottled for First Cask around the turn of the century.

A fantastic line up of drams from Alistair's range, all presented at full cask strength. Alistair gave a very informative narrative of the independent bottling industry, with many anecdotes and experiences shared.
