Released in summer 2022, Tamdhu's Quercus Alba Distinction Batch 01 has been created using sherry-seasoned casks made from American Oak (the Quercus Alba of the title).
Tamdhu and sherry casks go together like beans and toast, of course, and as Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction Batch 01 has been bottled at 48% without colouring and chill filtration and seems extremely competitively priced, this looks like another winner from a distillery long overdue a bit more recognition.

Nose: Warming cinnamon and vanilla, with sharp citrus and cherry flavours.
Palate: A rich and luscious palate brings plum, dates, chocolate, and subtle oak notes.
Finish: Fruity notes continue with a decadent portion of syrup sponge.
