Glen Elgin Cask 805647 was a recharred hogshead of the 2008 vintage bottled as a 13-year-old without colouring or chill filtration, yielding 269 bottles at its natural cask strength of 56.7%. A classical Speyside whisky from a rather overlooked distillery.

Colour: Light gold.
Nose: Fruity - stewed apples. Walnuts and boiled sweets.
Palate: A real bakery store feel to it - creamy and buttery, shortbread, custard creams and honey. A spicy, chilli note comes through towards the end.
