Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 57%
A 16-year-old Benrinnes 2006 bottled without colouring or chill filtration in 2022 by independent bottlers Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for their hugely popular Infrequent Flyers range.
This Benrinnes 2006 finished its maturation in a Moscatel hogshead Cask 6137, which yielded an impressive 282 bottles at an equally impressive 57%. Moscatel, lest we forget, is the Spanish name for the grape known as Muscat in France and Moscato in Italy - in Spain, it is most frequently used to make a delicious light, sweet sherry-style wine, or indeed for sherry itself.

Official Tasting Notes
Colour: Burnt amber.
Nose: Citrusy, lemon zest. Grated ginger. Pistachio nuts and boiled sweets.
Palate: Very spicy – opens with an immediate pepper note. This then retreats backstage to allow the deeper flavours to reveal themselves. Quite elegant, with worm-tub driven complexity. There's a dessert style quality at play, almonds and molten sugars, but it's well balanced. The fruit force is strong here - apricots, raisins and oven-baked Bramley apples.
