Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Little Brown Dog Spirits 70cl / 51.5%
An 18-year-old Port Charlotte 2004 single cask bottled by Little Brown Dog Spirits, who say they feel all grown up to be bottling special whisky like this. Little Brown Dog's bottles have grown too - from 50cl to 70cl, which can't be a bad thing - and this is a pretty exciting bottling: an all-natural refill bourbon hogshead bottled at a sprightly 51.5%.
Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte was always an exciting spirit, even when young, and it's fantastic to see casks like this one demonstrating that the potential those young editions showed ten or fifteen years ago is really starting to be fulfilled.
