A special edition Lagavulin Islay single malt whisky bottled for the 2018 Islay Jazz Festival, of which the distillery is the main sponsor. Like all of the Islay Jazz Festival releases, this is an epic cask strength Lagavulin and is highly sought after nowadays.
The casks for this special Lagavulin were selected by Lagavulin's famous warehouseman Iain 'Pinkie' McArthur and consist of first fill American oak barrels, refill American hogsheads and European oak puncheons, all of which came together to create a release of 6000 bottles at a natural cask strength of 58.5%. A nutty, citrussy Lagavulin with underlying vanilla, sooty and natural caramel notes.
