An old bottle of Isle of Raasay R-02 Island single malt whisky, the second general release single malt whisky from the Isle of Raasay distillery on the eponymous tiny Hebridean island east of Skye.
Isle of Raasay make both peated and unpeated spirit, and age both kinds in three different cask types - fresh Chinkapin oak, first fill Rye whiskey barrels and first fill red wine casks - before assembling all six combinations together for this single malt whisky.
Isle of Raasay R-02 was bottled at 46.4% without colouring or chill filtration and was just as popular as the first release. A terrific dram for its age.
