Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 40%
An old bottling of Glenfiddich 21-year-old Gran Reserva from the brief period around 2004-2007 after the 'Havana Reserve' title was dropped to avoid offending the touchy US authorities - but before the 'Cuban Rum Finish' was also deemed a bit too communist for the American market.
These original Havana Reserve and Cuban Rum Finished Glenfiddich 21-year-olds were noticeably superior to the Caribbean Rum Finishes that followed when the source of the rum used to season the casks was also changed.
At any rate, Gran Reserva Cuban Rum Finish is a terrific, uncharacteristically rich 21-year-old Glenfiddich that's perfect for after-dinner sipping with a fine cigar from whichever Caribbean country you choose...
