This 15-year-old Glenallachie 2005 came from sherry cask 901042 which yielded an outturn of 523 bottles at a monumental natural cask strength 63%, holy heck. The word sherrybomb could have been invented specifically for this absolutely epic dram.

Nose: Mocha, vanilla and molasses, with cocoa, almonds, nutmeg and ginger.
Palate: Layers of dark chocolate, treacle and mocha, with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and orange zest.

Great value bottle from Signatory - full of rich Madeira notes and slight edgy funk of the distillate come together beautifully! Takes water very well.
It’s a good flavour similar to the secret appetite (M) but with even more flavour. You have to add a bit of water to get it to 50% and the flavour is released in full.
