Speyside Single Malt Whisky Bottled By North Star Spirits 70cl / 58.2%
A Glentauchers 2008 14-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled by North Star Spirits in 2022 without colouring or chill filtration for their excellent Obscurities and Curiosities range.
This 14-year-old Glentauchers 2008 was matured in Oloroso sherry wood and was bottled at its extremely poky natural cask strength of 58.2%. Glentauchers is one of the most important malt whiskies for owner Chivas's Ballantine's blend, so official bottlings are thin on the ground, but this heavily sherried edition looks like another massive hit for North Star's Obscurities and Curiosities series.

An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)
I know I bought a cask strength whisky but was expecting a nice taste but the strength overpowered the flavor, I found it harsh, but I am not a whiskey conasur. I also bought the secret Orkney signatory cask strength and that was very nice.
