Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 51.6%
Past Connoisseurs Choice bottlings from Islay distilleries have been absolutely on the money and this offering from Bruichladdich aged at almost 30 years old is certainly top draw.
Batch 20/013 is a 1990 Bruichladdich bottled in 2020 by G&M for their new and improved Connoisseur's Choice range.
This "upper range" with releases of single malts aged 30 years and above (oops, 29 in this case) is to celebrate Gordon & MacPhail's 50th Anniversary.
G&M have also spiced things up and bottled this one at a natural strength instead of the usual 46%. It was matured for 29 amazing years in a refill sherry hogshead #2991 that yielded just 173 bottles.
