Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 52.7%
A remarkable single cask Lagavulin 1994 15-year-old Islay single malt whisky, specially bottled by the distillery to celebrate Feis Ile 2010. Cask number 3210 was a European ex-sherry cask filled on 1st August 1994 and bottled in early 2010 without chill filtration or colouring at a natural cask strength of 52.7%.
Interestingly, there are only a handful of Lagavulins with a 1994 vintage, and only two known official bottlings that actually specify the 1994 vintage: this Feis Ile release and the Distillers Edition bottled in 2010.
This is quite surprising given that the owner at the time, United Distillers & Vintners (now Diageo), had begun ramping up production following low activity in the 1980s and early 1990s. During this period, the distillery continued to use malt from Port Ellen and, in 1994, maintained its reputation as a core component of the White Horse blend.
