This 2004 Port Dundas 18-year-old came from Cask DL16483, a single refill barrel that yielded 223 bottles at the Old Particular preferred strength of 48.4%, not a million miles away from the old 85 imperial proof.

Nose: Vanilla sponge with butter icing gives away to hard candy sweetness.
Palate: Vanilla-rich – custard cream biscuits, hot toffee sauce and spiced oak.
Finish: Vanilla lingers on alongside sweet corn and warm, buttered gingerbread.
