Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled By Douglas Laing 70cl / 46%
It's difficult to believe that Douglas Laing's Big Peat has been around over ten years already. It still seems fresh and fun - what a pity more companies don't follow this approach.
Of course, just having a fun bottle is no good if the whisky inside isn't great too. Thankfully Big Peat always delivers on that front, so this 12-year-old Islay Blended Malt constituted of Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and (somehow still) Port Ellen should be an absolute belter.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Clean, fresh, salty and oceanic, developing to sweet malt dried over peat.
Palate: Anticipate charred oak, chimney smoke, rock pools and summer tar.
Finish: Long and lingering with brown sugar, bonfire ashes and a real phenolic quality.
