A 15-year-old Cragganmore-Glenlivet 1989, bottled by indie heroes Cadenhead's back in 2005. Cadenhead's are one of a number of bottlers who still retain the Glenlivet suffix for distilleries who historically used it in their old registered names. We think it's charming, but can't help wondering if 'The' Glenlivet get annoyed.
Anyway, this 1989 Cragganmore 15-year-old was bottled from a bourbon cask, yielding 306 bottles at a nice drinking strength of 46%. From the colour this looks like the cask influence was likely relatively minimal, so if you're after a spirit-forward 'naked' Cragganmore this will be right up your street.

Complex with subtle dried citrus, raisins as I would usually like in a sherry cask but something (the smoke, grape skins ? from the sherry cask?) unwelcome reminds me of grappa.
