I usually buy Woodford Reserve for an old Fashioned but don't want to buy American so I gave Stauning Bastard a try. A bit pricey but v nice. The mezcal cask finish gives it distinctive smoky Mexican notes . Unlike WR it's great over ice on its own and the mezcal works perfectly with chilled cola and lime - Also recommend adding a shot of cherry brandy to the latter and topping with IPA for a longer slightly stronger and sweeter drink if that is your fancy.

Heard about this recently and was surprised it was still available. It has a very distinctive nose, salt and fruit. Surprisingly pleasant.
