A single cask 2013 Balmenach 8-year-old bottled at full strength without colouring or chill filtration by Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for Batch 9 of their Infrequent Flyers series.

Cask 131 of Balmenach 2013 was an 8-year-old first fill ex-bourbon hogshead that yielded 252 bottles at its natural cask strength of 58.4%. It's great to see more indie Balmenachs cropping up and particularly from ex-bourbon casks as most Balmenachs are sherried. This should be yummy.

Colour: Light gold.

Nose: Banana custard, almonds and sweet popcorn.

Palate: Lively and vibrant, and classically Speyside. Vanilla pods, honeycomb and coconut toasties. Cloves, aniseed and a peppery back note.
