A fantastic bottle of Macallan 1974 25-Year-Old Anniversary Malt. Released in 1999, this bottle was one of the last vintages in the legendary Macallan Anniversary Malts series. These vintage releases are becoming extremely hard to find and represent the backbone of the brand's global popularity.

These old Macallan Anniversary Malts features the trademark sherried Speyside style that has largely been lost in modern production. While Macallan now primarily uses "seasoned sherry" casks—new oak filled with young sherry for a short period specifically to flavour the wood—this 1974 vintage was matured in traditional casks that were genuinely used to mature or transport sherry, resulting in a depth of character sadly lost in todays production.
