Big news today - the latest official Daftmill bottling is coming very soon!
We know how much you all love Daftmill so let’s get down to the nitty-gritty: This arrival will be the Daftmill 2008 Winter Release, composed of first fill bourbon casks of Daftmill's lovely Lowland spirit distilled in a ten week period between February and April 2008.
The total outturn for this Daftmill Winter Release bottling is 6000 bottles, which are being split between the UK, Europe and Asia. We've secured a reasonable chunk of stock but it’s still unlikely to be enough to satisfy demand, so initially this will be available only to members of our VIP Club and we will notify Club Members of what Tiers this will go into nearer the time.

In the meantime, to whet your appetites here’s the official tasting notes for the new Daftmill 2008 Winter Release by Jonny McMillan from Daftmill's distributor Berry Bros. & Rudd.
“This charming little Fifer lets you know immediately that it’s from top quality first fill ex-bourbon barrels with lashings of vanilla essence, and spiced custard appearing on the nose. A little bit of time in the glass allows more complexity and distillery character to build, giving honeyed beeswax, peaches, apricot jam and something more savoury reminiscent of bay leaves and cardamom.
The palate is pleasingly balanced with spicy oak pairing nicely with the fruitier distillate notes, some caramelised brown sugar, cocktail bitters, praline and banana notes all emerge with time. Wood spice is dominant on the finish giving long waves of cinnamon and dried ginger. Despite what the distillation season may suggest, this is perfect summery Daftmill, and indeed a perfect summary of why we love this complex little Lowlander in simple bourbon barrels.”
