That Boutique-y Whisky Company

That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a whisky bottler and brand owned by Budweiser producer AB InBev as part of Atom Brands, which also encompasses the Master of Malt retailer, Aerolite Lyndsay whisky, Rumbullion, Bathtub Gin, Darkness whisky and other brands created and originally owned by Atom and distributed by the group’s Maverick Drinks agency.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company began life in 2012 as a spin-off from Master of Malt prior to the Atom group being bought up by AB InBev in 2018.

Since the first Boutique-y whisky bottlings appeared several hundred releases have subsequently hit the market across a range of categories including single malt whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, Japan, Australia, India, England, Germany and Switzerland (among others), plus bourbon and grain whisky. Most of the company's releases are bottled above 46% except where the natural strength is below that figure.

Boutique-y’s bottlings are easy to spot, being smaller than standard size - usually 500ml or 375ml - and adorned with brightly-coloured cartoon labels. The company adheres to the unusual practice of not naming the vintage or cask types of their whiskies and prior to 2016 frequently withheld the age of the whisky as well, leaving only the batch number and/or bottling strength to distinguish between different releases from the same distillery. Thankfully age statements are now provided for most Boutique-y whiskies.
