Tomatin 2002-2019 | 16 Year Old | Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 59%
We love Tomatin here at Whisky-Online as it is a very underrated compared to the quality of the whisky that is produced there. This cask strength bottling from G & M is up there at 59% and packed full of creamy, sweet flavours...
Batch 19/060 is a 2002 Tomatin bottled in 2019 by G&M for their new and improved Connoisseur's Choice range. G&M have also spiced things up and bottled this one at a natural strength instead of the usual 46%. It was matured for 16 years in a first fill bourbon barrel that yielded a mere 189 bottles.
The Connoisseurs Choice series is an iconic series that started in 1968. To date, around 100 distilleries have been featured as part of the range, with over 2,000 individual bottlings. Each label on each bottle states all the information about the whisky inside such as cask type, strength, region, vintage and tasting notes.
Nose: Caramelised apple with fresh hints of lemon and oak.
Palate: Vanilla and fudge leads to dark chilli chocolate with underlying citrus flavours.
