Bottled by: Hunter Laing 70cl / 50%
A fantastic single cask, single malt scotch whisky bottled by Hunter Laing to celebrate their 20th Anniversary of the Old Malt Cask Series...
A 1998 single cask Tamdhu bottled by Hunter Laing to celebrate their 20th anniversary of the Old Malt Cask series. Bottled in August 2018 as a 20-year-old with a yield of 231 bottles from a refill hogshead.
Tamdhu distillery is situated in Knockando, Banffshire and translated means "little dark hill" in Gaelic. It was designed and built to be one of the most advanced and efficient distilleries off its time in 1898, and the equivalent of £20 million in today's money was raised for its construction. Tamdhu gradually expanded through the years as the demand for whisky increased but due to outside pressures it eventually closed its doors in 2010. Thankfully in 2011 it was purchased by Ian Macleod Distillers and re-commissioned in 2012 where they now mature the whisky exclusively in some of the finest Oloroso sherry casks money can buy.
