Vodka

Vodka is essentially a clear and pure spirit distilled from a number of potential base ingredients such as various grains and potatoes. Historically it was once more of a fermented, medicinal drink but has evolved over time with the proliferation of distillation technology into the drink we recognise today. The legal minimum strength for Vodka within Europe is 37.5%, although most are at least 40%. There are many flavoured examples on the today’s market since it has become a trendy drink, popular in many cocktails and with mixologists. Due to the intensity of distillation Vodka normally undergoes there is often little character left from the original ingredient and most are thusly quite pure and have minimal flavour. Texture and purity are the most important aspects when it comes to Vodka.
