Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Syndicate 70cl / 45.8%
One of the most famous independent Lagavulin bottlings, this extraordinary 35-year-old Lagavulin from the 1979 vintage was bottled by Bruichladdich for The Syndicate, a group of anonymous friends who snapped up casks from Islay distilleries some time ago and have been slowly bottling them to universal acclaim.
The most famous of The Syndicate's bottlings have been from Caol Ila and Lagavulin, with the recent Lagavulins distinguished even further by their rarity and great age. Bottled in 2014, this 35-year-old single cask Lagavulin 1979 yielded 191 bottles at 45.8% and immediately claimed a reputation as one of the best ever indie Lagavulins.
