Presented in the distinctive 'dumpy' bottle with the classic black label, this early Cadenhead's release was bottled at 80° proof (45.7% ABV).

Founded in 1846, Glen Albyn Distillery was situated in Inverness, close to the neighbouring Glen Mhor Distillery. Both distilleries were closed in 1983 during a period of widespread rationalisation across the Scotch whisky industry, with Glen Albyn subsequently demolished. As a result, surviving bottlings are increasingly difficult to find, particularly those distilled during the 1960s.

William Cadenhead, established in Aberdeen in 1842, is Scotland's oldest independent bottler.
