Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46.4%
Introduced for the first time in 2020, Fettercairn's 16-year-old is a very interesting addition to the distillery's core range. Fettercairn's improved wood policy has seen a large volume of the distillery's maturing spirit reracked into fresher casks, and now we're seeing the benefits.
Bottled at 46.4%, this Fettercairn 16-year-old has been assembled from a mix of Oloroso and Palo Cortado sherry casks - a change from the first version of the 16-year-old, which was a port and sherry-finished dram. It seems that this bottling is pitched primarily at the connoisseurs, and it also looks like the best value in the range.
