Matured in a single refill hogshead, cask DL17166, this Islay whisky was bottled at 48.4% without chill filtration or added colouring, with 327 bottles produced.

Founded in 1846, Caol Ila Distillery is situated on the northeastern coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay towards Jura. Known for its distinctive maritime and peated character, Caol Ila produces a typically lighter style of Islay whisky, combining coastal smoke with citrus and malty sweetness.

Douglas Laing's tasting notes from the label suggest a spongy, meaty style on the nose, with peat smoke and pulled pork, followed by a dry, thick palate of damp oak, Islay earthiness, streaky bacon and sea spray. The finish is long, with charred wood, peated malt and a sweet BBQ character.

Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers. However, only one or two bottles of each product were included in the parcel - so when they’re gone they’re gone! Please note that due to the size and nature of this batch of stock, some labels and boxes may show signs of wear.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0442/9293/1743/files/14399CaolIla2011-2023_12YearOldDouglasLaingOldParticularSingleCaskDL17166.jpg?v=1793377119
https://www.whisky-online.com/products/caol-ila-2011-2023-12-year-old-douglas-laing-old-particular-single-cask-dl17166
