Exclusively selected for Y's Cask in Tokyo, Japan, this limited release was drawn from a refill hogshead, cask number 16711, yielding just 367 bottles at a natural cask strength of 54.8% ABV.

Douglas Laing's The Vault range showcases individually selected casks from some of Scotland's most respected distilleries, with each bottling offering a distinctive expression of its origins. This particular Caol Ila was selected for the Japanese market, making it an interesting addition to the series and one rarely encountered in the UK.

Maturation in a refill hogshead allows Caol Ila's characteristic coastal and smoky character to remain at the forefront, with the distillery's familiar combination of maritime notes, citrus, gentle sweetness and clean peat smoke. Bottled at a robust 54.8%, this is a fine example of independently bottled Caol Ila, combining the distillery's unmistakable Islay character with the individuality of a single cask release.

Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers. However, only one or two bottles of each product were included in the parcel - so when they’re gone they’re gone!
