Matured for 25 years in a refill hogshead, single cask DL15941 yielded just 229 hand-filled bottles at a natural cask strength of 52.4%.\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThis particular example is Bottle No. 1 of 229.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBen Nevis from the mid-1990s has become particularly sought after among whisky enthusiasts, with independently bottled examples prized for the distillery's characteristically weighty, richly textured spirit. Long maturation in a relatively restrained refill hogshead makes this an especially interesting example, allowing more than two decades of development without overwhelming the underlying distillery character.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs with other XOP releases, this was bottled without colouring or chill filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDouglas Laing's tasting notes describe stewed strawberry and apple strudel on the nose, alongside malt, spices and vanilla.
