Ledaig 12 Year Old | Discovery Range
Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 43%
A 12 year old Ledaig from the Tobermory distillery on the Island of Mull, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the new Discovery Range.
We were so impressed when trying the whiskies from this range that we could not believe the RRP. In our opinion, they are better than a lot of whiskies at twice the price, and these are a must-have for anyone as an introduction to G & M bottlings...
Nestled nicely in the smoky section of G & M's Discovery range this bottle shows what peated whisky is all about -
Nose: Peat smoke with notes of maple cured meat, toffee and baked apples leads to seaside grasses and a gentle briny edge
Palate: Stewed fruits, sultanas, and currents with milk chocolate flavours combine with Creme Brulee. Sweet toffee with a bonfire ember edge
Finish: Lingering oak fades to reveal soft hints of citrus
The Discovery Range from G & M was created to give an introduction to their portfolio. The range is split into 3 distinctive parts - Bourbon, Sherry, and Smoky and these parts are highlighted by the colour of the packaging -
Green for bourbon
Purple for sherry
Cream for smoky
The whole range gives whisky lovers a tour of various flavour profiles and characters, and showcases what Gordon & MacPhail are good at.
